Clinic Policy on the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the continued spread of the coronavirus, we wanted to inform you of the precautions we have put in place to limit the risk of contracting the disease.

As always, we continue to follow a high level of hygiene: towels are changed after every client, couches are cleaned with industrial grade anti-bacterial solution, equipment where possible is sterilised in an auto-clave (used to sterilise equipment in hospitals) and equipment not suitable for this is done so by chemicals. All other surfaces such as reception desk, door handles, work tops, etc. are disinfected throughout the day. Gloves and masks are used as always to protect cross-contamination for relevant treatments.

Clients/patients, please do your bit by washing your hands when you arrive for your treatment. If you feel at all unwell, then please do not attend your appointment. If you have travelled or visited an area known to have the virus in the last seven days, please rebook your appointment a minimum of 14 days later provided you have not developed any of the symptoms associated with the virus.

We are currently following the NHS guidelines, which to summarise state that we should continue to treat, with the added precautions, as outlined above. In addition to this, we are also following government guidelines, who recommend people only attend necessary appointments.

For this reason, we are happy to treat you, but want you to understand that although we are following and implementing the precautions advised, we cannot guarantee that we have not been exposed and are not in the incubation period of contracting the virus (7-14 days). Therefore, you may be at risk by going ahead with your treatment.

We have also been in touch with our insurers who have confirmed you will be covered for the treatment as normal, but contracting the virus is not covered as it would be impossible to determine where the virus was contracted.

If you are in one of the “at-risk” groups such as over 70 or have health problems such as respiratory, diabetic, heart disease, immune disorders, etc. (refer to the NHS website for a full list), our advice would be to reschedule your appointment. We will still treat you if you would like us to but feel it’s important to be upfront about the risk if you decide to go ahead.
